Club constitution
Yatton Ladies Netball Club rules:
Yatton ladies netball club is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well being of all its members. The club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administristrators and parents associated with the club, should at all times, show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. Therefore, members are encouraged to be open at all times and to share any concerns about any aspects of the club with the appropriate committee member. The aim of our netball club is to be friendly, get fitter, competitive for all who wish a fun club which accommodates all levels of fitness. To keep the club running smoothly there are some rules which we would like us all to follow:
- Elected committee members should meet regularly and perform their agreed duties. The committee has the right to submit a vote of, no confidence and dismiss any member not performing in their role.
- All members are to have FUN!
- All members must play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions.
- All members must respect all other members and opponents.
- All members do not have to join the league if they wish not too.
- All members should keep agreed timings for training and matches or inform the secretary or their team captains if they are going to be late.
- All members must wear suitable kit for training and matches, without jewellery.
- All members must pay any fees/subscriptions promptly. (If you have any concerns speak to our treasurer who will be able to advise you).
- Everyone who has affiliated and is a part of either team will be expected to be committed to come to training and matches on a regular basis so as to keep the continuity, help the teams gel and progress. (Of course there is flexibility for odd times you are unable to attend).
- Positions within the teams will be decided by the captain with the advice from coaches for the good of the team. (During matches the captain will have the final say).
- There will be changes within the teams to accommodate better/ stronger player(s) being moved up.
- There will be changes within the teams for lack of commitment, fees not paid, continuity, fair play, attitude and unsporting behavior in the spirit of the game is shown throughout the season.
- As and when spaces become available new members of the club will feed into the appropriate team and position as and when they affiliate to All England and the league.
- As the club progresses and there are too many extra players for the existing teams then another team will be formed.
- If anyone has any concerns or complaints regarding any aspect of the club or a member they should bring it to the committee and appropriate action will be taken including the termination of membership if necessary.
Child protection policy (England Netball)
1. Anyone under the age of 18 will be considered a child or young
person in relation to Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in Netball
Policy and Procedures. (Young People will mean children and young people throughout all

8. Working in partnership with parents and carer’s is essential for
the safeguarding and protection of young people.
9. England Netball Safeguarding and Protecting Young People in
Netball Policy and Procedures are (in time) mandatory and all regions and
affiliated clubs must (over time) appoint a Welfare Officer to ensure that
appropriate procedures are followed.
10. Over the coming period, England Netball will be working with our members,
regions and clubs to make sure that we can all make sure that our young
people are safe, that we know what to do in the event of any concerns and
that we have the right structure, systems and procedures in place that are

Constitution
1. The club will be called Yatton ladies netball club and will be affiliated to the England netball.
2 Aims and objectives
The aims and objectives of the club will be:
- to offer coaching and competitive opportunities in netball
- to promote the club within the local community and netball
- to manage the club at yatton RFC
- to ensure a duty of care to all members of the club
- to provide all its services in a way that is fair to everyone
- to ensure that all present and future members receive fair and equal treatment.
3 Membership
Membership should consist of officers and members of the club.
All members will be subject to the regulations of the constitution and by joining the club will be deemed to accept these regulations and codes of conduct that the club has adopted.
- Members will be enrolled in one of the following categories:
- Senior member
- Junior member
4 Membership fees
Membership fees will be set annually and agreed by the Executive/ Management Committee or determined at the Annual General Meeting.
Fees will be paid: monthly via standing order,
5 Officers of the club
The officers of the club will be:
- Chair
- Honorary Secretary
- Treasurer
- Captains
- Junior coach/representative/child protection officer
- Other relevant position.
Officers will be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting in each year and subject to termination of office by resignation, removal or otherwise, the Members remain in office until they or their successors are re-elected or elected (as the case may be) at the AGM following their re-election or election (as the case may be).
6 Committee
The club will be managed through the Management Committee consisting of:
- Seven members plus other relevant positions (as stated above). Only these posts will have the right to vote at meetings of the Management Committee.
- The Management Committee will be convened by the Secretary of the club and held as often as the committee see fit provided that there shall not be less than 8 meetings each year.
- The Chairman and the secretary shall have discretion to call emergency meetings of the club committee if they consider it to be in the interests of the club.
- The quorum required for business to be agreed at Management Committee meetings will be: at least four.
- The Management Committee will be responsible for adopting new policy, codes of conduct and rules that affect the organization of the club.
- The Management Committee will have powers to appoint sub-committees as necessary and appoint advisers to the Management Committee as necessary to fulfill its business.
- The Management Committee will be responsible for disciplinary hearings of members who infringe the club rules/regulations/constitution. The Management Committee will be responsible for taking any action of suspension or discipline following such hearings.
7 Finance
All club monies will be banked in an account held in the name of the club (Yatton Ladies Netball Club).
The Club Treasurer will be responsible for the finances of the club.
The financial year of the club will end in April.
An audited statement of annual accounts will be presented by the Treasurer at the Annual General Meeting.
Any cheques drawn against club funds should hold the signatures of the Treasurer plus the Chairman.
8 Annual General Meetings
Notice of the Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be given by the Club Secretary. Not less than 21 clear days’ notice to be given to all members.
The AGM will receive a report from officers of the Management Committee and a statement of the audited accounts.
Nominations for officers of the Management Committee will be sent to the Secretary prior to the AGM no less than two weeks prior to the AGM.
Elections of officers are to take place at the AGM.
All members have the right to vote at the AGM.
The Management Committee has the right to call Extraordinary General Meetings (EGMs) outside the AGM. Procedures for EGMs will be the same as for the AGM.
9 Discipline and appeals
The Management committee shall have the power to refuse membership or expel a member when, in its opinion, it would not be in the interests of the sport or of the club for him/her to remain a member.
All complaints regarding the behavior of members should be submitted in writing to the Secretary.
The Management Committee will meet to hear complaints within a week of a complaint being lodged. The committee has the power to take appropriate disciplinary action including the termination of membership.
The outcome of a disciplinary hearing should be notified in writing to the person who lodged the complaint and the member against whom the complaint was made within a week of the hearing.
There will be the right of appeal to the Management Committee following disciplinary action being announced. The committee should consider the appeal within a week of the Secretary receiving the appeal.
10 Dissolution
A resolution to dissolve the club can only be passed at an AGM or EGM through a majority vote of the membership.
In the event of dissolution, any assets of the club that remain will become the property of NAME OF GOVERNING BODY OR SOME OTHER CLUB WITH SIMILAR OBJECTIVES TO THOSE OF THE CLUB.
11 Amendments to the constitution
The constitution will only be changed through agreement by majority vote at an AGM or EGM.
12 Declaration
Yatton ladies netball club hereby adopts and accepts this constitution as a current operating guide regulating the actions of members.
